Lawrence the founder of Lake Henry, had a dream to create a wedding venue that truly works! Throughout working in the hospitality and events industry since he was around 15 years old, realising what worked and didn’t work in a venue for a wedding, he dreamed of creating something without any flaws, and that dream was to build his own Tipi Wedding venue.
Lake Henry was created with one simple idea, weddings should feel relaxed, personal, and unforgettable. Our tipi wedding venue in North Yorkshire was built to give couples more than just a single day; a full wedding experience where you can celebrate, stay, and spend real time with the people who matter most.
Lawrence wanted to create a truly unique offering to couples not just with a venue but with support in planning their day. In 2019, Nina teamed up with Lawrence to help bring his vision to life, focusing on the behind the scenes aspects of running a venue and assisting couples in planning their dream day.
With a lot of hard work from Lawrence & his team, Lake Henry was born! Starting off as a vast land of fields and lakes, the venue started slowly taking shape. A tipi structure was built, the outdoor ceremony area was constructed, and the lakeside decking area came to life! After over a year of groundwork, the 1st phase of the build was finished.
After starting as a Tipi Wedding Venue in the summer of 2021, later in the autumn the 2nd stage of the build began creating the accommodation. This meant couples could extend their celebrations for more than a day. This is where Lake Henry Wedding Village was born.
Lake Henry’s Wedding Village now contains 32 pods, ranging from Double pods, ensuite to Family pods. Not only is there accommodation, but a communal hub area too. With firepits and cosy seating, it’s the perfect area for guests to gather for your pre wedding and post wedding celebrations, allowing the celebrations to last longer!
With their background in events, Lawrence and Nina were the perfect pair to create a magical venue, offering a high-end, personal service to every couple. They listen, plan, and bring dream days to life – continually enhancing the site with new features like improved walkways, thriving biodiversity, and even an added boat on the lake this year for picture-perfect moments!

Lawrence is the founder and heart behind Lake Henry, creating the venue with one clear vision, a wedding space that truly works for couples. With a lifetime in hospitality and events, he designed Lake Henry to be seamless, beautiful, and completely unique. Lawrence is always close by, ensuring every couple’s day feels relaxed, personal, and unforgettable.
Fiona supports Lake Henry behind the scenes, ensuring every detail is carefully considered. Creative, meticulous, and wonderfully thoughtful, she brings a calm and caring presence to every couple’s planning journey.

Natalie is a mum of three with over eight years of events experience. She is passionate about creating calm, seamless wedding days so couples can truly relax and enjoy every moment, knowing everything is taken care of.Â
She prides herself on being calm, organised and detailed-driven, so couples can feel completely confident their wedding is in safe hands. Her favourite moment of each wedding is the couple’s first look, an unforgettable, emotional highlight of every wedding day. When she is not coordinating weddings, you can find Natalie outdoors or planning celebrations for friends and family.
Events have been Nikki’s world for over 25 years. Across Europe, she has worked with global corporate brands, private clients, and countless wonderful couples, bringing their dream wedding to life. She provides guidance and innovative ideas to ensure the couple and their guests have the most memorable of days.
Often the person quietly making sure everything runs perfectly, Nikki is always solving problems before anyone even notices them. Her role is to take your vision and transform it into a seamless, joy-filled experience. She believes planning should feel exciting, not overwhelming, and Nikki will be there every step of the way with a smile.
With over six years of experience in event management and more than a decade in hospitality, Catriona brings a calm, thoughtful, and highly organised presence to every wedding day here at Lake Henry. Deeply passionate about weddings, she finds it incredibly rewarding to be part of such a meaningful moment in your journey. Naturally detail-driven and meticulous, she takes pride in planning every element with care, from timelines and logistics to those quiet, often unseen moments that make the day flow effortlessly.
With her warm, friendly nature and genuine love for people, she creates a reassuring and supportive atmosphere throughout the day so you can feel confident knowing every details has been thoughtfully considered.
